Mechanical and plumbing systems design for this two story 83,000 building for the new School of Education at the University of San Diego. This facility includes an underground parking structure, lecture rooms, classrooms, instructional resource center, administrative offices, and meeting spaces.

The mechanical design includes the expansion of the underground mechanical utilities (chilled water, hot water, etc.) for connection to the existing campus utility distribution, as well as various custom-made air handling units with special acoustical considerations and low velocity ductwork. Special attention was paid to the air distribution configuration to ensure optimum comfort throughout the building.

The plumbing design includes expansion of the underground plumbing utilities (high pressure natural gas) for connection to the existing campus utility distribution, as well as low flow plumbing fixtures with domestic water and sanitary sewer utilities. Domestic hot water is provided by a natural gas fired water heater. A re-circulation pump is provided to maintain temperature of the hot water throughout the building.
