SDSU Alumni Center

SDSU Alumni Center

MA Engineers designed the mechanical system for this three-story 30,000 SF alumni center building. The design incorporates an 8,000 SF ballroom, full-service kitchen, library, alumni board room, alumni offices, University advancement staff offices, and other meeting and conference facilities.

The mechanical design includes the expansion of the underground mechanical utilities (chilled and high temperature hot water) for connection to the existing campus utility distribution and large rooftop built up air handling units.

Plumbing systems include sanitary waste & vent, domestic hot & cold water, storm water, and natural gas, as well as low flow fixtures with sensor operated valves and faucets. An instantaneous gas-fired water heater is used to supply hot water to the kitchen.

The design team received $9,089 in energy-efficiency incentives from San Diego Gas & Electrics Savings by Design program.
