UCI Engineering Unit III

MA Engineers designed the plumbing system and provided peer review of the mechanical design for this 100,000 SF, five-story Engineering Lab building. This facility consists of both dry and wet laboratories, as well as an academic/administrative office wing and a large Lecture Hall.

The mechanical systems review includes the expansion of the underground mechanical utilities (chilled and high temperature hot water) for connection to the existing campus utility distribution large rooftop built up air handling units and wet lab exhaust fans.

The plumbing systems include expansion of the underground plumbing utilities (compressed air) for connection to the existing campus utility distribution to serve the wet lab spaces, domestic water, sanitary waste, storm drainage, plumbing fixtures and water heater systems, as well as laboratory gases such as vacuum, compressed air, RO system and lab waste piping.
