Mechanical and plumbing design services for the 30,000 SF renovation for Rohr Hall at Point Loma Nazarene University.

The existing offices and labs had no air conditioning. Space heating was provided via hot water radiators. As part of this major renovation, all existing heat and ventilation were demolished. The new HVAC system utilizes campus chilled and heating hot water system along with tertiary pumps (with bypass) and four pipe fan coil units. All the laboratory area are equipped with variable air volume exhaust system (strobic fans). All new laboratory exhaust fans are located inside a new roof well to keep the minimum height below respective coastal requirements. The entire HVAC system is equipped with state of the art energy management control system.

The plumbing system for this facility consists of general plumbing (restrooms), high efficiency, gas-fired water heaters, and low-flow fixtures. It also includes various laboratory process piping, such as vacuum, compressed air, and natural gases.
