SDCCD Mesa College Math & Natural Sciences Building Cx

Commissioning services for the new four-story Mathematics and Natural Sciences building. As the largest facility in the San Diego Community College District, the 206,000 SF building consists of classrooms, computer classrooms, teaching lab classrooms and faculty, staff and administrative support space. Specialty spaces include a greenhouse and astronomy observation center.

Commissioned systems / equipment included; variable-air-volume air-handling units, 100% outside air air-handling unit, fan coil units, split-system air-conditioning units, general building exhaust fans, variable-air-volume laboratory exhaust system (Strobic), laboratory, supply and exhaust air valves (Phoenix), variable and constant-air volume zone terminal units, and associated automated controls.

Additional systems included lighting and lighting controls (photocells, occupancy sensors, dimming, and building automation system integration), and domestic hot water.

This project was awarded LEED Silver earning both Energy & Atmosphere Prerequisite 1 – Fundamental Building Systems Commissioning and Energy & Atmosphere Credit 3 – Enhanced Commissioning.
