San Diego Zoo Elephant Odyssey

Mechanical and plumbing systems design for the 7.5-acre elephant exhibit at the San Diego Zoo, consisting of more than 17 structures. The exibit includes a new 19,000 SF elephant care center where visitors can watch keepers care for the animals, restaurant, retail shop, and exhibits for other animals.

Guests have an opportunity to see elephants, as well as mixed-species exhibits that house tapirs, capybaras, and guanacos. Mammals such as lions, jaguards camels and horses, as well as birds, reptiles, amphibians, and insects can all be found in Elephant Odyssey.

Elephant Odyssey also features a look into Southern California’s history during the Pleistocene era with the Fossil Portal and life-size statues of ancient creatures of Southern California.
