Mechanical and plumbing design for this 159,192 SF new Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQ). There are 264 two-person rooms. Sustainable design principles and energy conservation are integrated into the design, development and construction of this project.
Mechanical systems include energy efficient central heating plant with high efficient air cooled chillers, boiler pumps. The plumbing systems include new waste, water, and vent piping systems. The building is provided with a triplex water booster pump to provide required water pressure. The domestic hot water is provided by two high efficiency, natural gas fired water heaters with two storage tanks. Roof mounted solar thermal panels with storage tank are provided to preheat domestic water serving domestic water heaters. Low flow plumbing fixtures are provided as part of the project LEED strategy.
This project has been awarded a LEED Gold Certification.
