Complete mechanical and plumbing design for the first 200,000 SF of a 400,000 SF, $48M five-story library complex for CSU San Marcos. The facility includes the Barahona Center for the study of books in Spanish for children and adolescents, the student computer help desk, the faculty center, the Learning Assistance Program, a technology resource center, video recording studios and edit rooms, a 100-seat open computer lab, four 60-seat classrooms, one 80-seat classroom, the campus satellite copy center, Starbuck’s coffee shop, meeting rooms, and an atrium.

The mechanical systems are designed for low-velocity ductwork to accommodate the acoustical requirements of the project. Primary chilled and heating hot water is obtained from a site utilities distribution system.
