MA Engineers

MA Engineers has designed mechanical systems for police stations, detention facilities, government headquarters and courthouses for the local and federal General Services Agencies (GSAs). Facility features include crime labs, shooting ranges, evidence storage rooms, jails, investigation offices, dispatch centers, community and offices areas, and secured parking structures. MA Engineers has designed projects that meet Federal Anti-Terrorism Force Protection Guidelines (ATFP) as well as energy incentive-winning solutions that save the government money.

The complex is comprised of three office buildings
Tenant improvement portion of the project includes office space, conference rooms with extensive video/teleconferencing capabilities, shower and locker facilities, a child care center, kitchen and café area
Mechanical system consists of a remote central plant with two 500-ton water-cooled chillers, two cooling towers, air handling units with both chilled and heating hot water coils
State-of-the-art Direct Digital Control (DDC) system
Special features for this project include "green building" design for optimum energy efficiency
Extensive emergency power back-up system (100-ton air-cooled package chiller) to ensure uninterrupted service
Innovative insulation and an energy management system were all implemented into the design
Nearly 30% below the state of California mandated energy standards (Title 24)
